What is Pilates?

Every person’s biomechanics and movement patterning are all slightly different. All sports and work require different skills and muscle activation. When it comes to injury prevention and skill development every person's needs are slightly different.

Here at Body Mechanix, our experienced in-house Pilates Instructor Jackie Birch offers 1-1 bespoke Reformer and Matwork sessions.  Jackie also takes classes for small groups (maximum of 3-4 people per class).

Jackie's high level of experience means your session will be tailored to your individual needs and ability.  Whether you're new to the mat or experienced in the field of Pilates, you will get the right amount of attention and instruction to ensure you have a fantastic work out everytime.

 

How does Pilates exercises work?

With pilates you train the core muscles around your spine. The focus of Pilates is solely on you and we will make sure that you are maintaining the best technique possible. With that you can recover from your condition as soon as possible. Pilates exercises are aimed at the appropriate level for you and your pain and are progressed when possible and tolerated.
