When bringing a newborn for initial consultation, we encourage parents to bring discharge notes and baby's 'Red Book' (Personal Child Health Record) to help assist in case history taking.

What should I wear to my appointment?

It is most likely your osteopath or sports therapist will ask you to undress to your underwear so they can examine and treat thoroughly.  With this in mind, modest underwear or even a pair of shorts is appropriate. For the ladies receiving massage, your practitioner may ask to undo your bra to enable a deeper and more comfortable treatment.

How do I make an appointment?

Our quick and easy online booking system will allow you to make the appropriate appointment at your convenience. In the case of an emergency or short notice appointment, please all the clinic on 01582 945900.

How many visits will I need?

The number of treatments will vary depending on the problem and individual. After a thorough assessment, the osteopath/sports therapist will discuss their treatment plan for the rehabilitation process and the number of treatments likely required.  Once symptoms have resolved it may be that your practitioner advises maintenance treatment to help keep symptoms at bay and ensure you remain in peak physical condition and avoid an acute flare up of symptoms.

Do I have to be referred by a doctor?

No, osteopaths can assess and treat without referral from a doctor, however, some health insurers require a doctors referral before they authorise the cover of fees.  With this in mind, it is advised patients speak with their health insurance before booking to confirm what is required.  Should patients have further queries we are happy to take calls and offer further information or advice.

Complex obstetric patients and those undergoing active Cancer treatment may require doctors consent prior to osteopathic and massage treatment.  Please speak with your practitioner should you have an unusual or complicated presentation.

Treatment duration depends on your diagnosis, the severity of your impairments, your past medical history, and other factors.  Regular re-evaluations at intermittent periods during the treatment plan will take place to assess your progress and help achieve your goals.

Please call the clinic to ascertain whether your specific insurance provider wiill cover the treatment you require.

Please call your specific therapist 24hours prior to your scheduled appointment to reschedule or cancel an appointment. Failure to do so will incur a cancellation fee.

All patients are entitled to have a chaperone in attendance during their treatment. If this is something you would like, please let the clinic know prior to the appointment so we can arrange this for you.
