Focus on your Rehabilitation
Your first appointment will be no different from the usual osteopathic consultation and evaluation (see osteopathy page). You will be asked specific questions relating to your particular sport, how you came to injure yourself and details regarding your previous injuries and ailments. It is likely you will be asked to demonstrate some movements to help ascertain the tissue causing symptoms and arrive at an appropriate diagnosis. Your diagnosis and treatment plan will be discussed and osteopathic treatment will be tailored to the management and timely rehabilitation of the injury. When appropriate specific exercises are likely to be prescribed, often within our bright and airy on-site rehabilitation space.
If necessary, you may be referred to our in-house Sports Therapist for soft tissue treatment or our Pilates instructor to build on strength and stability to help reduce and avoid reoccurrence of injury. Our strong multi-disciplinary patient-centred approach ensures cross-referral to the right therapists at the right time of your healing and management plan. The aim is to get you back to full physical fitness and ensure you feel confident in your return to play stronger and more stable than when you first visited the clinic.
